Once again, World Physical Therapy Day has been a huge success with celebrations taking place around the world. Thank you to all WCPT member organisations and physical therapists who have sent in their reports about activities held to celebrate the day. This year's "Fulfilling potential" message was enthusiastically taken up around the world and used as the focus of the day.

Earlier this week WCPT launched the first of a series of online polls to gain opinion from member organisations and the physical therapy community. This is part of the WCPT Look Forward Together consultation, and will inform a new strategic plan to determine the Confederation's direction to the year 2021.

 

The first poll asks: "What do you see as the most exciting opportunities for physical therapy?"

IFOMPT Conference 2016: call for abstracts

The WCPT subgroup, the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT), is holding its next international congress in Glasgow, Scotland, 4th - 8th July 2016. The theme for the conference is Expanding horizons.

WCO-IOF-ESCEO congress

The World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Disease will take place 14th - 17th April 2016 in Malaga, Spain.

Review of the CIOMS International Ethical Guidelines

The draft of the revised CIOMS International Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical Research Involving Human Subjects is now open for public consultation. A review of the guidelines by physical therapists would help to ensure that the new draft meets the needs of physical therapists and the subjects of their research.

 

To provide comments online on the individual draft guidelines go to www.cioms.ch/index.php/guidelines-test. The deadline for submitting comments is 1st March 2016.

WCPT Look Forward Together

Take part in our poll and tell us your view on the opportunities for the profession

WCPT today launches the first of a series of online polls to gain opinion from member organisations and the physical therapy community. This is part of the WCPT Look Forward Together consultation, and will inform a new strategic plan to determine the Confederation's direction to the year 2021.

The first poll asks: "What do you see as the most exciting opportunities for physical therapy?" The online survey will take under five minutes to complete and can be accessed here:
